The Claddagh ring (named after The Claddagh area in Galway City that was a fishing village from the 5th century until the 1930's when it was demolished) symbolises - Love, Loyalty and Friendship. In Gaelic - Grá, Dílseacht, Cairdeas, with the heart symbolising Love, the crown Loyalty and the hands Friendship. This gift combines the Claddagh Design on an ash hurley based on the hurley (or hurl) used in the Irish field game of hurling whose origins date back over 3000 years. We personalise this hurley by adding your message. The Hurley is supplied mounted on a marble base & you can choose either Green Connemara or Black Kilkenny Marble.
